Drew Gooden and trade rumors will continue to swirl for three more years. Drew signed a 3yr/$23 million contract extension with the Cavs, thus cementing his future as the player most fans will mention when they want the Cavs to make a trade. Forums and Kenny Roda's show are already lighting up with potential deals proposed by delusional fanatics. Signing Drew is a good thing for the Cavs. First, they retain the service of a talented, yet sometimes focus-challenged, power forward who proved he's a team player. Second, Drew is capable of having a huge game once every three weeks, whether the Cavs win is another questions. C, Lebron Love Levitation. And finally, the contract does not break the bank, allows the Cavs to remain flexible and comes off the books before the big free agent class of 2010. It's not like trade rumors are unprecedented for Drew, he has bounced around during his 4yr NBA career.
The always stylish and equally chatty Damon Jones had a chance to give a tour of his home to MTV. Nothing to special about Damon's digs. Walls, stairs, carpet and furniture pretty much fill up the whole place. He's got a movie theater, but is that really a big deal anymore? His cars are where it's at, all three of them. It's a toss up whether his house or cars are worth more. Damon showing off his Flippity Floppity Flu to MTV Cribs
In a stunning move, the Cavaliers (err, Dan Gilbert) have fired long time play-by-play man and noted word aficionado Michael Reghi. Trying to fill his shoes will be some guy who used to do play-by-play for the Pistions. We get it Dan, you're from Detriot. You like to benchmark winners. Can you please leave something Cleveland? First we had to endure Public Address announcer Ronnie "Slam" Duncan, a blatant Mase rip-off, yelling at us the entire game and now this? Reghi, while at times a little over the top and maybe a little corny, brought a certain flair and life to the broadcast. His rapport and camaraderie with AC and Scott Williams was both genuine and entertaining. You'll be missed "Plugs". Reghi-isms:Flight Number 23 lift and lace sweet stroke that jumper bottom out that jumper stick back jumper ripping some cord the Candyman The Wonder Kid from Akron St. Vincent St. Mary's wheeling in the lane the rip away hammer it home the blow by gets a blow You can book this one for the Cavaliers
The NBA announced the regular season schedule for the league and as a memeber of said league, the Cavs are included in this announcement. They open at home against the Wiz, then do a strange San Antonio to Charlotte back to back on the road. Some games to note: @LAC Jan. 13th, @Denver Jan. 19th (a day everyone should celebrate), LAL Feb. 11th, and ironically enough @Utah Feb. 14th (be sure to give Boozer my love) before wrapping up the regular season against Milwaukee at home on April 18th. Also if you live out of market, don't fret. The Cavs are on national TV a ridiculous 33 times this season. I'm all for promoting Cleveland and the Cavs, but lets save some for the wedding night.
Looks like the Cavs got to good pickups to help out at the 1 and 2 position. meet Shannon Brown who we got at 25 and Daniel Gibson who we got at 42
For the 4th time, LeBron gets a SI cover all to himself This one is called "LeBron In Full" (check it here) other classic LeBron SI cover titles are: The Chosen One The Importance of Being LeBron and (my favorite) Best Ever?
Came across this pretty authentic looking pic of the (maybe?) AZLBJ IV for next year. We won't know if this is real for probably about 6 months, but I'm posting it now anyways because I'm a little LeBron obsessed at the moment. Check out the his Nike page here
I changed the layout of the LBJ Phenomenon page. It was getting too big so I spread it out over several pages. Check it out.
Added the new Drew Gooden Mickey D's commercial (its on the vids page) check it here
OK, as you may know because of so many people downloading the Videos off of the Multimedia page, I had to remove them and rework the hosting. Well... its done and back up Check out the Vids page, back in all its glory
I gotta say, ever since LBJ grew the Abe Lincoln Beard... we've been winning
Lebron got the proverbial monkey off his back by hitting his first game winner with .9 secs remaining in OT, capping off another spectacular night while notching his 5th triple double of the season and 9th of his career. However, it wasn't just all Lebron all the time, Big Shot Ron Murray continues to rescue the Cavs by draining clutch jumpers, as he did last night to send the game to overtime, and Damon Jones even found his stroke and went 4/5 from behind to arc. "Team Streak" continues to roll along and got back to 10 games over .500. Oh yeah, Lebron was also named player of the week, just another week at the office.
Cavs get Lee Nailon back from the 76ers for a 2006 2nd round pick. Sweet! My dude can score. Give a shoutout to Cavs who did two tours of duty! Ty Hill Tractor Campy Russell Paul Mokeski Henry James Chucky Brown (who else did i miss - not bad for off the top of my head)
Cavs trade Mike Wilks to Seattle for Flip Murray! He'll be a nice PG backup
LeBron had a helluva All-Star Game en route to leading the East All-Stars to a win over the West squad 122-120. 29 pts, 6 rbs, 2 ast, 2 stl - Not too bad, eh? The voters thought so too. He was named MVP of the game. I updated the awards page to reflect it. Way to go LBJ.
In an effort to fill out a roster, the Cavs signed former Oklahoma State gaurd Stephen Graham to a 10-day contract. Graham will fill in while the Cavs are without Luke Jackson (wrist), Larry Hughes (finger) and Ira Newble (face). If he's lucky, he'll get into a game and will forever be recognized as an official Cavalier and grace the players page on this website. Stay tuned.
Guys, you have one week to download any vids you want on this site, because as of Feb 12th, they are all coming down and I'll be showing em on youtube (YouTube.com) instead. The site has gotten more popular than my bandwidth can hold (over a million hits a month - GOSH!). Anyways, too many links to the vids, too many weird MySpace pages linking to the vids (apparently a lot of people on MySpace like LeBron, go figure). Anyways, the site is going down daily at about 5pm PST (8pm EST) because of lack of bandwidth.... so, in an effort to keep it up, vids have to go. They'll still be visable, but just with a Flash YouTube plug-in. Sorry, changes had to be made, I can't support your LBJ habit alone any more d p.s. the site is STILL free and always will be, go Cavs!
Lebron was once again named Eastern Conference Player of the Week. This is the second time this season Lebron has taken the honor, first capturing it back on Nov. 21 after a week that saw the Cavs go 4-0 and Lebron average 29pts, 8 rebs, and 5 assits, including a triple-double over Philia. This past week he averaged 33.8pts, 8.5rebs, 7.5 assists and 2.3 steals, again leading the Cavs to a 4-0 record with the ultimate highlight coming in a comeback victory over the Phoenix Suns. Lebron also spurned the league office and will not compete in the Slam Dunk Contest during the All-Star break festivities. Opting instead to compete in the Skills Challenge. For those of you who don't know what the Skills Challenge is, it's the other event that takes place on All-Star Saturday night that nobody cares about. Remember this? Riveting.
The HUGE banner on the side of Tower City. Check it out on the LBJ page
Just put up the new court Design for The Q Check it out with the other court designs here
Go get yours on Eastbay only $149! (sheesh).
Found two LBJ Nike commercials and posted 'em, they are both pretty cool. The summer training one even features Cavs conditioning coach Stan Kellers! See it hereThe other one is cool, but LeBron looks kinda evil (maybe that's why I never saw it on T.V.) See that one hereBoth are available on the LeBron Phenomenon page
Updated the LeBron page to show the new shoe. Also posted the new Zoom LeBron III commercial here
 It looks hot!
I updated the header for the LeBron Phenomenon to include this cool pic of "King" James Check it out
I think this is sort of official. Found this picture on SLAM Magazine online: it looks like a tribute to the 70's "miracle" jerseys Check it out!
Akron's own sat down for an interview with Oprah on Sept. 22nd, 2005
To fill the hole left by an injured Side Show Bob, the Cavs signed Alan Henderson to a one year deal.
... and we acknowledge it. Check it out GO, Gilby, GO! (p.s. nice job bringing jobs to downtown Cleveland, classy move indeed)
LeBron's new "Signature Collection" logo is pretty cool. Check it out with the rest of his Nike Stuff.
On September 8th the Cavaliers got their three point threat in Damon JonesLet's hope he knocks down some shots for us over the next four years.
LeBron will adorn the hood of Bobby Labonte's car for the 2005 Sharpee 500 at the Bristol Motor Speedway. Check out the article about it at ESPN
Just found THIS on the internet, Michael Stanley's awesome late '80s/early '90s Cavs them song: Tonight's the Night (Hard Workin' Town Hard Workin' Team) Man that song rocks... seriously, I love it. So, visit the audio page and jam to the other tunes we got up there too.
This is the proposed logo for the "Q". Usher doesn't approve.
The Cavs officially introduced Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall this afternoon at a press conference at Q-Lo Arena. Larry says Lebron was recruiting him throughout the year and Marshall says it doesn't matter if he starts or comes of the bench. Mike Brown seems stoked to have a defensive player the quality of Larry. Check out the video: Press Conference.
No, it didn't convert to Islam, but the Gund Arena will be going by a new name. The Cavs and Quicken Loans have worked out an agreement to give the naming writes of the building to the biggest on-line mortgage company. Quicken Loans Arena, or "The Q" for short, will be the new home of the Cavaliers. PD article. Works for me. I'll still probably call it the Gund for the next few years, but "The Quicks", "The Q", "The Q.L.A.", "Q-Lo" "The Raymond Usher III Dance Emporium" are all ok with me.
Added Cavaliers Most Valuable Network to the links page. Check it out. Good insight, cool cavs fan.
Reports have Donyell Marshall signing a four year deal worth between $20-$25 million according to ESPN. Marshall, who hit 12 three point field goals in a game versus Philly this past year, will be relied on heavily by Cavs to "sweet stroke that three ball" and to keep all the other Michael Reghi superlatives coming. Whether Donyell starts or comes off the bench, the Cavs continue to add depth to their team. However, this raises more speculation about Drew Gooden's future with the Cavs. Could Drew be traded to get a PG? Draft Picks?
Rip Van Winkle's favorite player re-ups with the Cavs. Z signs a five year deal worth between $55-$60 million that will probably allow him to finish his career in Cleveland. With the signing of Hughes and Z, coupled with Lebron, the foundation is set for the Cavs. Check out the ESPN article. It's nice to see the Cavs actually have a plan and are working it. The ship has been listless in the past, and hopefully, now, with the new ownership and front office, the course is set and headed towards the New World.
Some may know, some may not. So I thought I'd toot by own horn a bit. The official Cavs site uses the logos and uniforms that i drew for cavshistory. Check it out
After a long, long struggle... somebody else actually found a pic of Darren Tillis. Apparently the old Cleveland State standout is now a coach at TSU and that's where a submitter (who goes by the name of "ferryisgod") found it and sent it to me. Thanks! Now I only have 6 players without pics.
Danny got us another 7'3" Lithuanian. Kid needs a sammich but I welcome Martynas Andriuskevicius to the fold.
OK, I haven't updated in a long time. But I have a decent excuse... I moved cross country and have been busy with real life. Yes, the owner of Cavs History has moved... to Los Angeles. But don't worry, there is no chance I'm gonna make Clippers history or anything stupid like that. Anyways, I have done a number of things, biggest of them all is adding this blog with an RSS feed (if you're nerdy you'll know what that means). I've updated the coaches page to show Big Malone and Mike BrownIf you have been living under a rock you may have missed LBJ's awesome season. Seriously, 27-7-7? That is insane. Yeah, he was an All-Star starter. How about coming in 6th in MVP voting? How about being named 2nd team all NBA? More cool stuff, the LBJ III shoe has leaked to the web. In addition he has a summer shoe dedicated to his rookie year's stat line: the 20-5-5. Check out all his shoes while you're at it. I have 'em all, do you?
LOOONG time, no update. Just added Jerome Moiso to the fold.
For the love of GOD, check out the: Stats page! Averages and Totals are now database driven and searchable!
Lots of updates! First off the Seasons page has changed, click on a season and it takes you to an individual year's page with the team photo Player pages have been updated! In addition to being database driven now, you can click the individual years in the stats to link to the season page.
Look who showed up and got his picture taken, its "Sasha." You'd better hit the three this year.
There's now a links page for all the other people doing cool stuff. Added Powerade and a new McFarlane to Lebron's page. Maybe they'll grow on me, but I doubt it. Check out LBJ's new shoes.
Life is tough sometimes, removed Steven Hunter's page. No games played, no glory.
